Looking at buying vagcom and would like to know a bit more about it, have sent off to Ross-Tech for info but can't wait. One "Q" iv'e not seen on other threads is, "Does clearing fault codes sometimes clear problems?" I know this seems a bit simplistic but I really don't know anything about vagcom and thought that an intermittent fault could cause a problem which could resolve itself, (mechanically), but still not work as the fault code needed resetting????? Am I on the right wavelength here or am I miles off target?

ok you need to read the fault codes first.
then clear codes to get a accurate reading .
if the management light comes on again then read the fault code this will tell you exactly what is going wrong.
there are more and more readers out there i have just bought one from euro car parts to read all obd interface which all cars are after 2001 just a reader and clearer.
i am in the motor trade so this will save me a packet of dosh within the first three weeks.
hope this helps rich...;);)
