1.4 TFSI Engine

I am about to collect my new A4 Avant Sport 1.4 TFSi. I have been hunting around for details on the engine but struggling to find any information on the one fitted to the B9 i.e. does it have COD, or even what engine is it? Does anyone have any further details?

Other than Cash On Demand, what does `COD` mean?
What info are you looking for apart from its a 1.4 petrol and its TFSI?

Cylinder On Demand, or Active Cylinder Technology in VW terms.

Nothing in the brochure or Audi's site suggest it's a CoD engine.

Did you speak with a salesperson before buying the vehicle?

Yes, and he said yes but I don't see any evidence anywhere to back this up. It looks like the A3 has it already.

Good ol' salesmen ;) It's easy enough to get the car to go into 2 cylinder mode, I'd have thought you'd have seen it on the test drive.

It's definitely present in the A1 and the A3 and most (if not all) the other VAG 1.4 vehicles.

Emission figures suggest it's not, but they are more than likely high(er) due to the size of the vehicle rather than the engine characteristics.

The 1.4 A4 engine doesn't have COD.
