1.8 on carb, f plate, mpg ????

my mk 2 seems a wee bit thirsty:(

24 mpg, on a run !!!!!

ok so i wasnt "pottling", but :(..........

ok, so its a syncro, but bliddly hell


what you guys get ???

Sound right to me, My 1.8 Cabriolet GTI did 32mpg on a good run, so a 4 wheel drive carb running 24 is not far out ;)

yeah thats about right, if not a little juicy, had a jetta syncro and that used to like to drink

The2E3 carb can drink fuel if off kilter and especially if the hot air pre heat system isn't working correctly when the outside air temp dips. Anyway, my Octavia VRS gets 23 overall so what you get isn't so bad.

Seems I need help to sort another prob

as I reach 4000 rpm, the engine cuts out, like fuelk starvation

however, as the reservoir fills up, the engine runs again, till 4000

rpm..........fitted a new fuel pump, thinking it had got lazy, but no differance......any ideas:(:1zhelp::1zhelp:


oh, and I think it a weber carb ????
