Surely a guy sitting on his laptop for half an hour shouldn't cost between 3 and 4 hundred quid? No parts and negligible labour. What am I actually paying for?

Someone wants your trousers down .

£200 for a good generic file , you are paying for the guys time , travel and the cost to develop the file .

assuming the map was properly developed, there would have been extensive rolling road and live mapping to find the optimal set up. If you're a big company like ABT/Revo, I agree that cost of developing that one map can be quickly surpassed.

You are paying for someone's intellectual property, just like when buying software.

Hi the price would depend on the year of the car and wether it could be done through obd pluggin or if the ecu needed to come off. Average price on a obd custom remap it between £ 150 to £200 pound and some remappers offer warranty on their mapps
