I'm sorry to report that this week my lovely 2 week old S3 sportback was stolen. I got the car on 5th April, and on 20th April I had just parked up when 2 men wearing hoodies and bandanas over their faces ran at me, punched me to the ground and drove off in my car. I ordered the car in June last year. In November I got an S3 but there was an error made with the order and it didn't have the exact options I had specified. So the dealer ordered me a new one, and I eventually got the correct model in early April.

So 10 months of waiting, 15 days of ownership, and gone in less than 30 seconds.

Words fail me. Utter scum.

Horrible to read that. I will just never understand how people can do something like this.

Hope you are ok and not out of pocket, but regardless not a nice experience.

Unfortunately I will be significantly out of pocket. There is the insurance excess, lack of a car meaning I have to hire one (have got hire car for only 3 weeks via insurance), new locks for house because house keys were on the keyring.
Thank you for your posts everyone. Not sure what to replace the car with. Would love another S3 but not sure I can face the worry of this happening again.

Absolute scumbags!!, any indication from the police of whether this is on the increase in the area ie stolen to order or being broken for parts? may be worth checking out on the web for breakers selling parts,

Hope your ok, it could have been a lot worse.

they dont deserve to breath the same air, total scum, but, on the plus side, they didn't stab or shoot you.

Terrible to read, hope everything works out OK for you. Absolute low life.

I've had a near miss like this too with my car last year when it was a couple of months old. I was initially feeling a little self conscious parking in and returning to a public car park alone (a first for me as I'm 6'2" and 95kg) as this is easily the best car I've ever had. The jackers tend to go for S and RS models, apparently.

By chance I spotted a couple of gents in hoodies not consistent with the area walking quickly towards me just after I'd parked and was about to get out. I was lucky in that I just could drive out forwards and boot it. And it was purely by chance, I wasn't looking out for danger. A few minutes later I phoned the non emergency police line to report it and they later told me that they'd found the perps on CCTV and also saw me further down the road after driving away *quickly*. But the hoodies prevent any ID.

Hope it all works out.

Thanks for all the replies. I am a Doctor and was visiting an elderly patient when this happened. Because of these scum this lady did not get to see a dr that day at all.

No news yet on the car - I don't think I'll have any good news to report but will update this thread if I do.

A Q7 was car jacked and shared on the forum not so long back in the West Midlands. You would hope wmp are doing something pro active to get these scum off the streets. Hope you're getting over this as I am sure it will not have been pleasant.

I know this is an old thread but just wondered how you got on with insurance and how much it increased after?

Hope all worked out.
