Hi, i've got a fabia 1.4 MPi, she's a 2001 'x', and recently she stopped starting, just 'click' and nothing happens. All the warning lights come on and go off as normal, new battery (with plenty of juice).

Have noticed that the solenoid under the starter motor is red hot, even after the temp gauge (and starter motor) have cooled down.

Is my starter motor/solenoid dead?, or is it something else ??

If you had a drain high enough to cause the solenoid to stay hot, the battery would got flat very quickly. By the sound of it, you have a faulty starter motor.
