Hi, newbie here and proud owner of a Passat B8.

was wondering if someone can help me with locating the best place for jack stands.

planning on changing tyres and jacking up the car on the reinforced pinch weld but where do I put a jack stand?

on the front of most cars you can get a stand under the subframe where its solid and will do least damage. the front is heavy due to the engine so stands due to their narrow contact area can damage sills. the rear is more difficult as their usually isn't a subframe. i don't know about your car in particular, but once in the air just look for a flat solid area just in front of the rear wheels. sometimes the only place is a sill, but use some wood to prevent damage, but of course the rear is a lot lighter. if a towbar is fitted then you can also use this as a jacking and supporting point.
