Passat engine advice??

My brother is buying an passat tdi.. It is an SE, supposedly it is a 130bhp tdi, but he says it only has 5 gears. I was under the impression that all tdi 130's had a 6 speed box.

Is that right? I have told him to get the engine code, i suppose that will be the only way to find out for sure.. Just don't want him to get ripped off..

Passats with the 130 lump only had a 5 speed box. The Golf and Bora models of the same time had 6 gears.

Mine has five. The TDI sports have the 6 speed box.

I thought mine ought to have one but i was wrong

Yeah mine is a six speed! Ok I shall let my bro know that his is original! Come on the English, Rugby world chmpions agiain?

Yeah mine is a 2002 se 130 and it only has 5 gears I thought it should have had 6 but i was wrong only the sports have it I think
