other than 10bhp, obviously...
Hi,
just wondering what makes one 54bhp and the other 64bhp? is there a simple mod to release the extra 10 bhp on a 54bhp model?
I know some may look at this post and think - "why bother - 54 or 64, it's still very low...?"
cheers,
Pete
The 54bhp is a 6v whereas the 64bhp is a 12v.
If it were my choice, I'd go for the 12v for that little extra bit of pep ;)

One is as flat as a pankake , the other is a flat pankake on a flat day .

would be great, other than it is for a 17 year old as his first car, so insurance needs to be as low as possible. 54bhp is group 1 or 2 (depending on insurance Co), with only other group 1 cars being ultra tiny french things.
the fabia 1.2 54bhp is just fine for him for the next year or 5 while he gets through 6th form and Uni.

Well, why didn't you say it was for a 17 yo in the first place.......:banghead::biglaugh:
In which case the 54bhp with one of the HT leads pulled out would be far too much power. :beerchug: I speak from experience of 2 teenagers and a 12 yo Honda Jazz.

sort of tried that with the good old failing HT coil packs! I ended up having to recover it and get it to limp home! now I have shown him how to check and replace a coil pack and have a couple of spares in the boot.
Cheers,
Pete
