So...

Not an issue specific to the Passat at this happens with the wife's Volvo too and on previous cars, but any way of disabling the button on the fob that opens the boot on a VW?

If I keep the key either in my wallet or jeans pocket, I have a habit of accidentally somehow leaning on the boot release button.

Really annoying! Can't find anything in the menu settings in the car.

Realise that it's just as likely to happen with lock/unlock but at least if I don't open a door after 20 seconds it'll lock itself again whereas the boot will just stay wide open if I don't realise.

I've not heard of you being able to disable this. You can disable the manual boot release (i.e. using the handle on the boot itself) on my A4, but not the key opening, I don't think. I'll check later and see, as one assumes if it can be done on one VAG car it can be done on any.
