Problem with phone contacts picture in instrument cluster

Has anybody else experienced an issue with the contacts photo appearing all noisy and broken up? Happens with my iPhone and work window a phone. I also connected my iPhone to another q7 in the show room and I saw the same problem. Will a software fix sort this? If so do you know if there's one out yet?

Not seen that problem myself but I'll have a look tonight (the missus has taken the car today... grrrr).

I have the Virtual Cockpit but I'm guessing the same rules apply especially if you have tried it in another Q7. Was the other Q7 you tried it did it have a Virtual Cockpit or same dash as you have?

I don't own an iPhone, only Android (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+) but I'll try it.

I assume the contact picture on the iphone is fine... obviously...

Can you take a pic of your software version on your MMI? See if its similar/older/newer?

I will check later but I've never seen any contact pictures either in the MMI or VC (VC however I hardly ever have on the phone option)

I think if you have the smartphone interface with Andriod Auto or Apple CarPlay it will show the photo. But I'm not 100% sure I've seen some you tube videos that show this in a Q7

I don't have the pictures come up...for me in the VC and MMI it's just a pic of a mobile phone in the right hand corner - the contact does have a picture assigned

I have the iPhone 6 running on 9.2.1

When a colleague called - I got a small grey head profile instead of mobile phone picture on the MMI screen but not in VC that was still the mobile phone pic...no picture or anything stored on my phone for them.

ok got it. I'm going to check tonight on my Android. I've set a fresh contact picture for my home landline as a contact on my phone and will take cordless phone from house into car and call my mobile... see what happens. Keep you posted

Ok, been out to check. I thought I wasn't going mad

I called my home landline from the car and then called my car from the landline. Both times I got my contact pic appearing in both the main MMI screen and in my VC

My phone is Android running Lollipop 5.1.1

Maybe therefore its an iPhone issue with the car?

Definitely no contact pics showing in the two Q7's I've had. Just grey silhouette of a head.
Again this is with an iPhone 6, both cars virtual cockpit.

and if you look up iPhone 6 Plus you see no black "dot" next to "Contact Images"

But it's my understanding it will work with Apple CarPlay because when you connect to Apple CarPlay it disconnects Bluetooth anyway. Contact images are displayed in CarPlay. I appreciate that some don't have the smartphone interface. I have this ordered.

That explains why I've never seen contact pics (didn't even know it would display them) still on iOS 10

I thought they’d started appearing when I put the beta on a few months back but wasn’t sure if they were there before or not.
