Hi All

Does anyone know if its possible to retrofit HomeLink into the new Q7 (4M)?

I see on ebay you can buy the button module for above the driver (link (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A4-8W-B9-Q7-4M-Innenleuchte-Leseleuchte-LED-8W0947135H-Mikrofon-Homelink-/172108961223?hash=item28127e55c7:g:rqAAAOSwzgRWyLH v)) but I'm sure it needs more than just that

Cheers

Hi Andy,

I got a quote from a company for the complete retrofit of homelink using OEM parts: £1195+VAT.

Seems super pricey for something that only cost a few hundreds as an option.

If you found some more, please let us know.

Thanks for the info bouba007. That seems like a hell of a lot of money to fit it...

I haven't in the end no, for some reason it's been removed as an option from a UK car. Strange when it used to be.

Oh well...

Another mystery from Audi!

I'm interested in your coding work, will follow the thread on the forum as there are a couple of things I would be interested to get involved with.

I just got hold of the wiring diagramm for this.

You need the switch (Andy's link), plus the control unit and the aerial for the unit. The real expense (hassle) is that the switch is in the headliner in the front, but the control unit is at the back behind the bumper and the aerial is near the back seat, thus lots of wiring has to be (re)placed for it to work.

I looked at doing this once on a previous Audi for my Garage. In the end I got hold of a spare garage remote then wired it into a hill hold switch (my car didn't have Hill hold) as this was the cheapest spear button location that Audi sold.
Cost me £22 in total and nobody knows how to open the garage as the button isn't obvious. I love it!
