Hi Guys

Has anyone tried this? stemei.de .Fahrzeugcodierungen .Codierungsservice .Webdesign - Stefan Meier - Zeigertest Virtual Cockpit - VCDS Codierungen, Webdesign (http://www.stemei.de/pages/coding/audi-q7-4m/zeigertest-virtual-cockpit.php) (click the "Select Language" drop down on the right and choose English)

I had a HEX-USB+CAN Lead for my Audi A5 (2010) but I understand this cable doesnt work on the new Q7 (4M) which is MLB2. However, apparently HEX-NET does work?

I'm in sussex if anyone has a HEX-NET and wants to test!

Cheers

Andy

Oooh I like that...for some reason I thought our cars did this but obviously not...

Andy have you done with yours?

Not yet Nemo, I sold my Hex-USB+CAN interface when I sold my A5 in 2014. I understand this inferface does not work on the new Q7 (4M) due to the new technology, MLB2. But apparently the HEX-NET interface does work, but I dont have a clear answer on that one yet.

I enabled needle sweep on my A5 in the same manner, but they are real dials obviously, not a VC cockpit.

I'm still looking into it all.

Cheers

Sounds very interesting and cool. I would be interested in how you get on as well. All these acronyms are a bit beyond me at the moment.

Ok, little update. I've done it and got it working (no issues) about 15 minutes ago

http://1drv.ms/1QXvoal

I have now a Ross-Tech Hex-Net module and using 15.7 of the software to do this (and lots of other stuff)

Had to enable Bit0 in Byte1 of the Instrument Module (17).

30173

In addition, I've also disabled the Seat Belt "chime" if a seat is occupied but no seat belt plugged in. You still get the seat disable in the dash, but not the warning "tone".

Going to try get the Alarm warning tone when you lock/unlock the vehicle working later.

Cheers

Andy,

Sorry, but this little of off-topic.

I am new to VAG vehicle and I still do not have one. I am planning to get a new 2nd generation Q7 in 6 month time. I am currently researching the option for VAG software and hardware for VAG vehicle for DTC reading and change/flash ECUs and configuration on the car. I am familiar with my current vehicle (JLR) on this issues (SDD and Davina VCI), but not with VAG.

Can you please let me know what software and hardware (VCI) you use and/or recommend. Also if you can suggest a English language forum/website with this kind of information I would appreciate (I do not speak any German...).

Thanks, Arpad
