Hi Guys. My 2004 A4 2.5TDI is ready for a cambelt service.
What sort of price should I be looking at to include the water pump etc.?
And can anyone recommend a specialist somewhere near Scunthorpe or Doncaster?

Many thanks...

Its going to be over £500 if you have the full job.Thats what what I paid 4yrs ago b ut it was done by Chris in London and will probably go there again cos he knows these better than anybody.I expect others are a lot more but they do need expertise.Always going to be a drawback with these as they get older

Hiya,

I had my 1.9Tdi cambelt, tensioner, waterpump, thermostat, and temp sensor done all at the same time with genuine only parts in Sheffield at VW Audi indy Tec-Nicks Tec-Nick Autos Garage Sheffield Find us (http://sheffieldvwaudispecialist.co.uk/find-us-1.html)
It was under £500 and a good job, can check the bill tomorrow.

Thanks guys.
I've had 2 quotes so far, dramatically different. One for £670, the other for £1380!! including VAT. Both specified the use of genuine parts to include water pump, tensioners etc. Quite a difference!
Any other suggestions welcomed.:)

go for the cheaper one. 1380 is taking the proverbial. don't forget to get a new stat fitted as that requires removal of the belt to change, and go for a genuine stat. you cannot compare the job to a 1.9, the parts are a lot more and it is more of a job to do.
