Hi guys

Some advice please, I have used Mtec brakes a few times now and they are good value for money, my question is I purchased a set with the protective paint to help prolong life and delay rust, was purchased on the 12/5/15. But I am seeing severe rust on them already, I have the same protective coat on my wife's VW Touareg which was fitted more then a year ago, and they seem fine. I know I will get rust at some stage but not so soon it must have been coming through after 4 months. Especially if I have paid extra to prolong the protection.

I have contacted them and sent photos which you can see here

Your opinions would great thx, what would you do?

They do advertise 12 months warranty on the website.

This is the email they sent back

Hi

Thanks for sending in these pics. The coating is designed to help prevent against the onset of any rust, however as the parts are made from cast iron, we cannot offer any product which will guarantee protection indefinitely.

I have checked the thickness readings from when you purchased - to ensure the coating was adequately applied - and they are showing as well within tolerances.

We can certainly send out some high temperature coating which you can apply to the hub section?

Please let us know how you wish to proceed.

Thanks
Clare
