Hi all
I'm a newbie to the forum and a newbie to the vw audi group.
We are going to look at 2 audi a4 2.0 tdi in the morning.
One is a 2008 (58) reg with 89k on the clock the other is a 2009 (59) with 130k on the clock.
Both have had the cambelt done and both have full history.
Both SE and both silver and both in the same car dealers.

The dilemma I'm in is that the higher millage one is better a spec than the 89k one.
Hill assistance, servo steering and parking sensors.

Any thing I should be aware off.
I've saved up enough money to be able to by us a decent car that needs to last us at least 4-5 years.

The first time that we have been in this position to be able to afford a car worth more than a grand so don't want to get my fingers burnt.

I'm plumping for the b8 due to the b7 having ballance shaft problems.

Any help much appreciated

I had a 58 plate TDI SE avant. Engine was good, but there were Some failures in those early models. Here's a few pointers:
- check the ignition fob works correctly
- all doors and filler cap lock and unlock as expected, check each one
- feel if aircon is operational ( pressure switch failure is common)
- shock absorbers leaking
- flywheel ( might show up as clutch juddering when pulling away )

Hi all thanks for the advice.
I went for the lower millage one.
Because it was better speckled, folding mirrors, hill assistance, light pack and full dealer history.

Thank you for all the advice.
All doors lock and unlock
And didn't notice any judder when pulling away.
Hopefully got a good low millage 2 owner car that will last us without to many issues.

I bought a B8 MY 12 A4 Avant 2.0 tdi Auto 1 year old and have been very pleased with it overall. I wish i hadn't been as tight with the budget as i wish now had got a quattro.
Blame Audi for giving me a 3.0 L A4 Quattro as a courtesy car
I hope you will be as pleased with your Audi as i have
