I have a FL A7 with the matrix headlights and they are good and do work well. Recently however a warning flashed up indicating a fault with the system.
Took it to my local Audi dealer who cleared the fault and stated that they could not find anything wrong with them and to drive as normal and monitor the lights.

Went back outside at the dealers, turned the lights on and then turned the main beam on and the fault immediately returned. Back into the dealer to indicate my dissatisfaction to then be told by a technician that they actually require special equipment and software to fault find matrix headlight faults and they do not expect to have the equipment installed for another month!

I was a little miffed at being told this as the technology has been out for almost a couple years now and I would have thought that Audi would not sell cars that they were not capable of maintaining?

Spoke to Audi UK who said that I could drive 2 hours out of my way to Leeds!

Anyone else had any faults with Matrix lights?

Thanks

It's quite normal for dealerships not to carry the correct equipment to fix your cars. When I had a W12 with an engine fault it had to go to Liverpool as they were the only dealership in the area with a jig to remove the engine.

Also rear camera calibration, when this first came out, very few dealerships carried the calibration jig.

Same for the ACC radars. Even 1 degree of misalignment can mean the system is unsafe to use. The rig to align them is specialist and not all dealers have it.
