I was wondering if I'm likely to cause problems for my engine/turbo because of my daily commute. Within about a mile of my house I have to drive up a steep hill that lasts about 1.5 miles. The engine is cold when i start the hill but fully up to temp by the time i reach the top.

I'm trying to take it steady and dont go above 40mph. Any thoughts?

Passat b8 2.0 ltr. diesel

As long as your engine oil light don't come on should be ok I would think,

Just make sure your oils is at max and the engine is warm before setting of.

High performance cars have anti splash sumps because of the extreme corning they do, they basically keep the oil in another compartment where the fed pipe in located so the pump don't run dry, but I have heard of some ppl fitting anti baffler sump plates to there car because of the same concern you have.

As long as you do regular oil changes i can't see there being a problem.

i guess my main concern was trashing the turbo over time as the oil isnt warmed up and the engine is under heavyish load.

Your oil feed pipe will be fitted on the back near the sump so the turbo will not starve of oil going up hill, just defo do regarding oil changes every 5k.

It'll be fine, a bit heat in the turbo before the hill, car nice and cosy at the top, not Solsbury hill then?

Bannerdown road, my house is at the bottom of solsbury for which I'd need the awd I reckon.

no, you wont cause any problem with your turbo. its not exactly working very hard, all things considered. at 40 mph, its barely doing anything, unless you are on the rev limiter and towing a chieftan tank behind you. just drive and enjoy.
