I assume you've checked your car isn't subject to the recall?

No one really knows. Assuming AMD were aware, have they offered you any sort of guarantee should it have to be remapped again?

I don't mean to pee on your campfire by the way, I'm genuinely interested.

interested too, i wonder if vw could inform vosa of the upgrade, and that needs to be on the mot computer in order to get a test. ???

nothing was said but the way i look at it is its my car so should be able to do with it as i want and if vw say they have to by law do the recall update thing i will argue that they pay me for my remap.loads of people have remaps so would be interesting to see what the score is with this and too see if we lose our maps.

its one of our favourite engines to remap, very strong performer.

Our Essex dealer in Rainham has a golf 140 producing a very respectable 190hp and hes put 100k miles on it, now at 160k !!

As far as the recall goes I would tell them to stick their tea strainer where the sun doesn't shine, bloody stupid the whole thing, utter madness....

Yeah its a scam. Weve had a few cars back in after the recall, to retune again.

With the recall update installed The 140cr versions are making 127hp and the 170 cr we have only seen 1 yet and that made 158hp. So we surmise the are detuning them at the same time which is just plain wrong.

When you buy a 140 or 170 you expect it to make that power and they usually do and now they don't

I wasn't aware the recall had commenced yet? Are you removing the gauze?

The update was immediately rolled out, any car plugged in got an updated calibration

But they haven't delivered the mesh inserts yet? The software update has not been rolled out yet, VAG said they would announce it when it was ready. What is the new software version number you have been seeing on the 5K CBAB engine?
