Cooling Fan Problem

Hi guys,
My 2005 V8 Phaeton is overheating and i have found out that the engine cooling fan is not functional. Any suggestions please?

you need to test the fan. connect it straight to battery and see if it runs, and /or use a multimeter to check for voltage when it should be running.

I have checked and the radiator cooling fan works ok when plugged to the AC fan socket
