just a remap will see a good few more horses and torques, but the limit is the injectors and turbo. get hyrids of both, and a few other supporting mods and you can see 200. whether that engine is safe for much above 150 though i dont know. if i was doing it i would start with an arl or awx thats already 130 (awx) or 150 (ARL).

Most are a cheap resistor to fool a temperature sensor to dump more fuel in for more beans , which also fools the computer into mpg gains that are fictional .

A remap is a complete program with many perameters adjusted .

The mobile remapper has a few copied/ebay maps and is generally a wallet lightener. He can immobilise your car, cook the ecu do all sorts of crap for your £130.00

Think I'd take that 149 with a pinch of salt.

You need to do some research and check the mappers credentials before you hand your vehicle over to him, Gazwould mentioned the obvious things to check.

Consider the worst case scenario (your car going pop) and whether or not this person you're paying £130 is reputable enough to be sure he won't be the reason for it.

It's worth considering the cost to you in terms of insurance increases too.

I'd avoid the really cheap prices. Too good to be true etc.
DTUK tuning boxes have a good reputation.

A good generic remap starts from £199 .

A reputable mobile mapper I have used charges that + fuel , if he can double up on the day in the area the fuel cost is split .

He's an agent for UPsolute who are International with HQ in Austria near Vienna .

a local mapper i use goes out to a golf 1.8t. the guy wants as much power as he can get. so he does it to about 200, as thats a good safe limit. refuses to do any more. ( on a test drive, you can log the maf readings and use a computer programme to get a good idea of bhp) my friend uses vieuzu maps... registered and trained installer. anyway, the golfs owner is not happy, not enough power, so sees another local chap who maxxes it out, about 280 we think. bloke goes flying off down road, engine goes bang, rod through block. the engine is safe to about 200, as my friend told him... lol. moral of the story, use someone who knows what they are talking about...
