Window regulator

Hi to all! My driver doorwindow regulator starting to fail..still works but noisy.so want to replace. In uk part is too expensive. Can get one from my country. But cars overthere is lefthand drive. So my question is or window regulator frim left hand cars will fit to righthand cars??? Thanks again upfront.

Have the exact same problem with mine still working but noisy and sometimes got a mind of its own done my passenger side last year so will be a doddle this time as always buying genuine right and left do have different part number but not 100% sure if there interchangeable the drivers side part number is 8E0837461C

So driver side is part number with 2 on the end?? Im right?

As an FYI,

in Audi:

XX0 - common to left hand drive AND right hand drive cars (e.g. 8E0xxxxxx)
XX1 - Left hand drive only e.g. 8E1xxxxxx
XX2 - right hand drive only e.g 8E2xxxxxx

Thank for that too. So if part got 8E0xxxxxx so its means universal and fit for both left and right hand cars??

Yes - so if buying parts on EBAY.DE (great for Audi parts) only buy them if the third digit is 0 (8E0, 8H0 etc) and never get ones where it is 1 (8E1, 8H1) unless you have a LHD. Unlikely you will find RHD parts there anyway.

No, I believe the there no differences in the actual doors for right or left hand drive cars, also the motor for the left window in a LHD is the same as a RHD - in the A4 you can't directly contact the window motors (other newer models you can so may be different), this is done through the convenience module and in the convenience module you set if LHD or RHD and this in turn decides which function in the door motor is available (memory seats etc) on which side of the car.

I have done a huge amount of upgrades to my car using many parts imported from Germany with no issues.

Completed:
1) Replaced Mass air meter - easy - probably not a mod!
2) replaced air filter with PiperCross one - easy
3) Cruise Control - commercially done
4) DIS - commercially done
5) changed Symphony radio for Kenwood DNX7200 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/-/dp/B00390MO52) with Bluetooth - difficult due to wiring for all the bits (added ipod (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-iPod-classic-160GB-Generation/dp/B002MRRROQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1353684466&sr=8-2) and archos media player) - since changed to Android headset which is really cool!
6) installed tv screens in headrests (replaced headrests) medium (better if take seats out and install under carpet)
7) Upgraded speakers to Bose system
8) replaced amplifier with Bose amplifier -
9) Added Smarttop for roof - allows remote operation etc way cool - very easy
10) Moved reversing sensor speaker from under roof lid (stupid place to put it) to right hand panel under window (much more sensible - I can now hear it!!!) - easy
11) Heated front seats - wiring and control unit complete, waiting for seat elements (4/4/09, Elements in seats, have to build wiring loom from seat to floor)
12) Puddle lights on doors -
13) OEM Xenon main lights
14) HID Xenon dipped lights

16) Xenon type LED parking lights -
17) "Silver" indicator lights front -
18) Heated passenger rear view mirror (cheapskates at Audi only installed a normal one!!)

21) Coolerbox for glove compartment - easy
22) Wiper water sensor for DIS - Installed 25/4/09 - took about 1.5 hours on a cabriolet not too difficult but messy!!
23) Lights in foot wells - Waiting for spade connectors
24) Tyre Air pressure sensors - OEM system
25) Auto Leveling Headlights
26) Updated rear lights (with LEDs) - B7 lights
27) Autodimming rear view mirror
28) Autodimming wing mirrors
29) Autofolding side mirrors (installed normal folding mirrors then added relays to make them autofold when engine is off!)

31) Auto wipers - since Audi never offered this on the B6 had to use third party product

33) Auxiliary heater (lots of work, had to route fuel line etc - not sure it was worth it but fun to do!)
34) Change from 5 speed to 6 speed gear box (done while engine was being changed due to faulty cylinder)
35) changed to Electric front seats
36) Added memory function to electric seats
37) Rear view camera - part of radio
38) Remote start for auxiliary heater (using mobile phone)
30) Front parking sensors - speaker in drivers footwell
31) Front headlight washing system
32) Heated windscreen water jets
33) Heated steering wheel

Tried to use OEM parts as much as possible - now have a fully spec'd +++ 2003 A4 Cabriolet 2.4!

Did most of it at night when the kids were small (between 2008 and 2012). Kept me sane I think
