Handbrake

Why does my new A3 handbrake not come on automatically when you open the door or turn the ignition off? I thought this was pretty standard now and does stop the roll away scenario. Am I missing something with this?

You have to put SOME input into the driving game, otherwise you could do away with the steering wheel ;)
