2000 A3 1.8t AGU won't start!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a 2000 model 1.8t agu that won't start. I get the error code : 00515 - Camshaft position (Hall) sensor (G40) Short to B+ .

I replaced the camshaft position sensor, with no change in the error. I also traced the wiring back to the ECU.

Anyone with any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Make sure you have 5V at pin 1, lilac and red.

I have checked. I get 5v at pin 1. The other 2 pins show 12v and ground. I am going to get the cam timing checked this weekend.
