Hi there!

I'm trying to replace the bluetooth module in my 2006 A3. I believe it's located under the passenger seat - from what I read here. Is it under the seat or under the footwell?

So I got the right tool and got the four bolts out, so that the seat is removable - didn't disconnect the wire, but that looked pretty straightforward.

My problem was that then figuring out how to get under the carpet was a non-starter. I read this:

"You can leave the seat in the car as you now have enough room, remove the nsf inner sill trim carefully to allow you to lift the carpet for the nsf footwell, now lift the carpet and prop it up with something to access the black box

the trickiest part is the nsf sill trim as they are tight so lever the trim slowly until it lifts"

But I have no idea what the 'nsf inner sill trim' is and how to remove it.

Any help (esp. pictures) would be very much appreciated.

NSF = Near Side Front, which in GB & Ireland is going to be the left-hand side of the car.. Anyway, below is a stock picture of the inner sill. I've used this one as the silver S-Line part stands out but the inner sill trim, is going tobe holding your carpet down, all along the length, not just the silver part shown below.

Thank you for the explanation. I still don't know how to remove this sill safely. How does it attach? How to remove it? I have a feeling this job is really easy if you know how and really hard if you don't! Ha.

Whilst I've not removed an A3 sill trim, judging by what your instructions say, I suspect that it is clipped on.

Edit: ah, it is clipped on with mighty strong metal clips. You will probably require a trim removal tool (possibly a plastic one) to get some purchase. See page 3 here: http://no3ntry.cozywebhost.com/andymac/AMSS_8P_Installation_Manual.pdf
