2012 2 Litre Diesel Improvements ? EGR etc

I'm looking at B7 2 Litre 140 bhp Diesel Passats (Still) - Was there improvements to the EGR plus other things to 2012 models onwards ?

Hi there, Mine had a new turbo fitted in late 2013 and also new egr valve , under warranty. The mechanic told me that they had improved the egr valve , that was what caused the turbo to fail. They were , I think , changed early 2013)

What year is your car ?
Do you mean the mechanic said cars registered from early 2013 had the improved egr valve fitted as standard in the factory ?

My car is early 2011 , the mechanic said old EGR valves were now superseded with the new updated ones ( as fitted to mine ) and that was either early 2012 or early 2013. Id assume cars built after these dates would almost surely have the updated EGR valves , I know if you purchase one now , you get the updated ones.

Just bought a 2011 passat. If i was to change the egr do they supply the new updated ones at the dealers or does it depend on the car?
