Anyone heard much about the GTE spec B8 Passat? It seems to be available to order in Germany but the UK has next to nothing noted other than 'late 2015 launch' on a vw press release from early 2015.

I just handed back a fully loaded 190ps GT dsg saloon which I had on test for 4 days and what a car!

But I want the hybrid for my company car as the BIK is so low for the next few years and its base spec is meant to be very high for the price.

Thanks. That's some good economy figures. Was that from the de site or another vw site?

Just came across this clip on youtube of the GTE accelerating in E-mode and GTE mode - Volkswagen Passat GTE - 0-130 kph (E-mode vs GTE) - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfLIjIO9UaM)

The e-mode noise is just immense, but you can hear the wind whistle that has been mentioned in reviews. The GTE mode isn't too bad, although the noise is partly made up by a sound generator to help mask the 1.4 TSI engine which is really a bit small for such a large car when you push it.

Hi.

Any news about this car in UK?

In Norway it´s really cheap because of the hybrid which gives lower taxes.

Thanks for the info.

Prices seems to be expensive for UK, in Norway the GTE cost 3000 LESS than the 150 TSI.

That is list price though - hopefully it will be a bit cheaper in the real world. I'll see if there are any lease price out yet....

Has anyone got or driven a Passat GTE yet, if so any opinion?
I'm considering it versus an A4 Avant for upcoming company car replacement.

I can understand from the professional reviews how the short journey electric performance works well, what I would like to know is how does it fair (MPG) on say a 300mile business trip in hybrid mode starting fully charged, but with no charging along the way?
