This is so frustrating. I ordered an S3 sportback on 22 June. Dealer said will be ready end September. Just been told build week is 44 (26 October) so will be well into November when I get it. Aaaaagghhh!

I ordered an S3 Sportback on 15th July and have been given a bulid week of w/c 28/09/2015. I haven't heard anything from the dealer to say it is going to be delayed but i might contact them and find out. The email they did send me said that once the car is built then they would anticipate delivery within 5 weeks. Still a bit to go as well!!!:drive:

I'd be interested to see if your build week is confirmed chiefinspector. My dealer said that my build week may come forward as "it's a sold order". This sounds like BS to me, but I must say I am very disappointed that it is so late in the year (over 4 months after I placed an order).

Redhotjimmy - I sent an email to the Audi dealer and they confirmed that the build week is still 28/09/2015. What they didn't say is how long it takes to actually build the car but they still said delivery would be within 5 weeks once built.

Thanks for the update. I'm not too badly off as I currently have a mark 2 TTS, but the warranty is running out soon and I am nervous having been stung for a repair out of warranty on a previous Audi.

I ordered a S3 sportback last weekend, been told on Friday that I have an unconfirmed build week of 47 mid Nov, I am hoping to have before Xmas!

I'm pleased for you. Can't work out why mine is allocated so late. :-(

Sorry, wasnt meaning to rub it in..., I am thinking as its unconfirmed it'll more than likely be delayed? I seem to remember when I have bought a new car before, been told that the options you are having fitted affect the delivery dates.. the more you have the potential of it been delayed? it might just be down to the supply chain for some items.. I'd be concerned if you haven't ordered any extras!

Update. Received the car Thursday 15th October. Exactly 3 months since it was ordered (15-07-2015). Definitely worth the wait - the car is a beast:D. The car is also loaded with options but this hasn't delayed the delivery at all. I'll post some pics shortly.

Congratulations. I look forward to seeing the pictures. Mine is supposedly being built the week commencing 26th October. How long did you have to wait for delivery after the build week?
cheers

I was told that build would be w/c 28th September. I had an email on the 30th September saying that my car was in Port of Emden and waiting transport to the UK. Arrived in the UK on 12th October but I wasn't able to pick it up until the 15th due to work reasons.

I don't know how long it takes to build a car but from a build commencing the 28th to be told it is in Holland 2 days later, that is quick. Otherwise it was built a bit earlier but 3 months in total so can't complain too much;). I'm sure you will have a big smile when your one gets here as well!!!

Hmm, mine was built week 44 the same, I got a call on Thursday saying it was arriving at the dealers this weekend, really ecstatic except 2 weeks earlier than they said last week before and still haven't got rid of my old car (sold privately, buyer picking up next Saturday.... aarh!!

Good for you! My dealer has been really atrocious at keeping me informed.
Mine is grey too - seems a popular colour.

You guys tried the yourAudi tracking site? Saves me having to hassle the dealer and can religiously check the website every day instead!

Just need to create a log in and enter your postcode and build number.

I tried youraudi but it failed to recognise my order, even called ACS and all they did was raise it with Audi Germany? Car suposedly arrived before I have had any update on been able to track. Dealer had not seen this tracking tool before!

Sorry mate, wasnt trying to rub in, I'm glad its here, but its no good until I get the money from my old one, I am so tempted to just pay remainder of the deposit with credit card before getting the cash for my old one! I just know if I did that something would go wrong. :(

How can there be such a big difference in lead times from dealers when it all falls under the Audi banner. 5 months seems excessive when i only had to wait 3!!! I can only think that where i live it is one of the Audi capitals in the UK and they somehow get priority slots for the newbuilds. Can't confirm this of course but wouldn't surprise me!!!

Well I live in a small town in Wales, not many Audi's around here!

I can't explain it, either. Still no word of what day my car will be here but "can't see it being later than the end of this week"

i will believe it only when I see it.

Update: dealer has now told me the car is in the UK and will be at the dealer's in 3-7 days.

So so if it is next week it will be over 5 months since ordering it (and being told it will be ready in September).

So so frustrated at the continual delay.

That's great news, welcome to the S3 club. Ridiculous the amount of time you had to wait but I'll bet you're smiling now. Get some pics up soon!!!
