Hi

With BT starting to "rip" people off now with there recent price hikes I am looking to get rid of my BT line and go for a cheaper option... I do not use the land line that much but with line rental and features adding up to £70.00 every 3 month I think its time to change..

So I considered a mobile at first but then though what about VOIP.... I do not use the BT line for my internet access as living in a village I could only get 2MB until recently so I use a very good, reliable and local company to provide wireless internet.. I can now get fibre and up to 70MB or so they say.... but I am happy with the current service I get of around 30MB, slower but reliable, and if I have an issue it is fixed in a couple of hours, would not get that from BT!

I have been looking at Vonage, which cost £10.00 a month for the following... Vonage - Business Phone Systems, Lines & Numbers via VoIP (http://www.vonage.co.uk/)

Vonage Premium

£10.00/ month

£5.00 delivery charge
FREE activation!

Vonage Features (http://www.vonage.co.uk/features/) included
Vonage Extensions® - make calls from two smartphones at no extra charge
Unlimited¹ UK and Ireland landline calls
Unlimited¹ calls to US, Canada, China, Hong Kong & Singapore
4p a minute to UK mobiles¹¹
Choice of phone number
9.5ppm Access Charge, Service Charge 0p to 0845 and 0870 numbers

Now as you can see that will save a fortune! and I can, if required transfer my current number...

Does anyone use these? or VOIP?
