hi again all,

this kind of relates to my other post but I am almost certain i have a problem with my crank sensor so have got one from GSF and am planning to change it tomorrow on my mkIII gti 8valver.

i have heard horror stories about having to remove an engine mount to get to it but I can't see from looking at the engine that this is correct?

my haynes manual also says to remove the oil filter/cooler. does this acutally need to be done? my manual is very vague - does anybody know exactly what tools I will need to carry out this job and a rough time scale?

thanks for your help. any advice appreciated.

I'd be very interested in this! Need to change one on a Passat 1.8T.

It is a bit of a pig to get at; it is behind the front engine mount.

The Passat is a different set up.
