A4 1.8T stutters

I have a slight problem with my 97 A4 avant. Under harder acceleration the engine stutters very badly as if something is cutting out. Under normal driving it is fine. The turbo can be heard and felt working ok.
Any ideas??

Depending on your engine code this could be caused by either a coil pack going down (AEB engine code, this is most likely)or if this is not your code it could also be the coil (ADP engine code, least likly) or the last one The double ignition pack with spark plug leads (ADR,AFY engine codes,a possability if one lead is breaking down)....Of corse it is very hard to say without looking or plugging in diagnostic equipment....Do you know anybody in your area with VAG-COM, if so ask the to do a system check this will tell you the problem...Good luck:biglaugh:
