Hi All. I am new here so would like to say hello to everybody. I have just bought A6 3.0 TDI with SE specification.
I am thinking of changing:

1. Sat nav to bigger screen.
2. Clocks to newer version one with more colourful display.

Please tell me if this is a plug and play swap or something more needs to be change like plugs, gateways etc.

Thank you for every little help.

Regards

Nothing is plug and play, for both you will need compliment protection removed, which is around £100 at Audi per go. Changing the whole MMI you could be well into £2,000 at a guess and clusters are very expensive.

And before you even attempt to buy any parts you need and must have access to VCDS and wiring diagrams.

I wouldn't even bother. It would be less hassle and probably cheaper to just drive it back to the garage and trade it in for a car that has the options you want.

For a little more than the price of a roof box (£3000 :biglaugh:) you could get the mmi plus/8" screen upgrade from HazzyDayz:

MMi 3G Plus HD Navigation (iPod video, A2DP, Bluetooth, Postcode & DVD) | HappyDayz (http://hazzydayz.com/mmi-3g-plus-hd-navigation-with-ipod-video-a2dp-bluetooth-full-postcode---dvd-player-from-rmc-4514-p.asp)

I think that's cheaper than the carbon Nord56 isn't it? :biglaugh:

Hi. Back to the treat. Do you know what part number I should be looking for if I want to change the clocks to colourful. I have black and white at the moment and do not like it. I know that some of the clocks are with ACC and night vision. I do not have that features so want to buy correct clock to avoid problems.

Thank you for help

I have an opportunity to buy full screen speedometer in good price. It comes from USA. Clock is also in miles but part number is different then are on eBay. Do you think if it fits to UKs model. Obviously coding and CP is a must just wondering if USAs is the same as UKs.
Thanks

I wonder if the fact that the dash is on the wrong side across there might affect the parts suitability?????????????

I doubt they are a different shaped unit and suspect from the OP's writing style that English is not his first language, possibly a LHD car anyway.

However the US clocks may not have km/h on them.

This really is a non starter though. The cost would be crazy.

The dash shape will be the same but I'm willing to bet it'll differ in some significant way to cater for the US market or reg's.

OP's asking if it fits a UK car.
