Okay, lovely car, but ive only had it 6 months and its got a few problems.

Firstly, Theres a "service now" warning coming on with a single beep when I start it up, but its only had a service about 6 months ago and ive only done about 6000 miles. Should I follow its advice and chuck it back in or is it a faulty sensor?

Also, lost my air con last week. Went to get it re-gassed, but that only lasted a few hours so i took it back to kwik fit and they said the gas had completely gone, but their machine didnt detect a leak when it was gassed originally? Any ideas whats going on here?

Lastly, I noticed it has lost some coulant... i topped it up to just above minimum and for the last three days it hasnt lost anything. Any ideas?

Is it possible that ive driven over something that has flicked up and damaged pipes?

Im just about to book it in anyway, but just wanted a rough idea of what I can expect the dealer to charge me.

PS: Howdy all! Its my first post!

Hi,

Did you get the car serviced by a VW dealer last time? Possible the computer wasn't reset to reflect the last service. You can reset this (tells you in the manual) but its best to confirm that the car doesn't need a service.

With the air con you must have some kind of leak, this could be cheap or expensive depending on what part is leaking. I'd consult a proper air con specialist, Kwik fit has simply regassed it. When I had mine serviced they did quite a few things, one of which was to put in a dye so if a leak did occur you could find out from where.

No idea on the coolant level. My guess if a pipe was damaged it would continue leaking so hopefully it's nothing like that.

Hope some of this helps.

Good luck.

Andy
