A4 TDi Water leak

I'm Brian and new to this site. I've had a 1998 A4 for nearly a year now and it's been great. Unfortunately I've just discovered a nasty water leak from the O/S of the engine somewhere above the A/C compressor and below the turbo. I can't see where it's comming from and there doesn't seem to be a hose around there or much room either. Are there any core plugs in the area? Or any other ideas. I don't think it can be the head gaskit as the water comes out too quickly (engine cold and not running).

I've identified the source of the leak in my 1998 A4. It's comming from the core plug above the starter motor. My question is; what's the best way to attack it, and what do I need to remove to make access easier? Any help would be appreciated.
