Struggling engine, deteriorating fuel economy, noisy charcoal filter valve

Hi,

Had my audi for just over a year now, all was well and I love my car, its old but . Since last month I've been noticing that the engine is no longer running as smoothly and fuel consumption has risen steadily. It now struggles to get above 50 mph and I can almost watch the fuel gauge dropping. When the engine is idling the valve into the activated charcoal filter seems really loud, but I'm not sure if that's the problem. Does anyone have experience with this?

You need to have the car read for fault codes and at the same time some of the sensor outputs checked whilst it is hooked up to the diagnostic.

Is is an 8v or 16V, 1.6 or 1.8 ?

The EVAP valve noise varies from car to car, on some it is a light tick but with others it really hammers away.
