Not sure how many saw Watchdog on BBC1 the other night. BBC One - Watchdog - Audi's oil-guzzling issues (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1Q2rXBpVsXVQ12hVFmxMBjP/audis-oil-guzzling-issues)
The story is about a design/ manufacturing fault on older 2.0 Ltr TFSI engines which I just happen to qualify with my 2009 Q5. The problem is that a certain number of these engines use excessive oil. According to Audi UK, excessive is over 1 liter of oil per 1000Km. Personally, I would think that anything approaching a liter between services is about normal and anything greater is excessive. Not sure what my oil burn rate is but I do carry a spare liter of oil in the car. It is a hang up of having a 2.7ltr Range Rover with excessive miles. Never carried spare oil before for any of my previous 20 or so cars.
Begs the question; what is normal oil use for an Audi motor?
