Climate control problems

Hi there, i have just bought a 1995 S6 Avant. The air con doesn't work du to the condensor having a hole in it. However, there is no heat either. Both are operated off the climate control panel, and I was wondering if it won't get hot because of the air-con not working, or whether it should get hot regardless? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I think the climate control still has to work to produce heat. Get that sorted and your heater should work. I believe they run using the same system.

Yes, I think. I have heard of other people whose air-con has stopped working and then a few days later they say 'the heater doesn't work either'.

Could be a long shot, but try driving it with the, "econ" button on, my heater seems to come on a lot more when this is pressed.
