Maxhaust Sound Booster for Active Sound Exhaust?

Hi,

So having owned a few nice cars, the last one being a C63 AMG I'm trying to work out if the Maxhaust system for the BiTDi A6 (C7) is going to be worth it?

It's around £300 and claims to be able to produce that V8 rumble, anybody got one of these?

The sound of the car isn't too bad anyway, it does sound a bit artificial and I don't want it to sound even more artificial?

Few weeks ago I was to Woerthersee for the GTI Meeting. There were two A6 with the active exhaust and Maxhaust sound booster.
I liked the sound and it was also quite loud too. I would say it is worth.

I've got the kufatec box on mine. Gives a really nice roar when you start the engine and then the choice of 6 engine sounds. It's amazing!

I've seen the video clips on Youtube, perhaps they don't do it justice but I'm not that impressed, does it sound much better in real life?

Yup - I've been in Jamiefc's car and it does sound amazing!

This is mine. Again doesn't do it justice but has the power start that the maxhaust doesn't.

So I have the Kufatec on order, 2 questions.

1 - where did you locate the button?
2 - which sound is the best?

I like the last sound, (loudest) sounds like an R8 I think. I've installed my button in the boot on the right hand side. There is a thread on it somewhere. Probably in the A7 section.

I didn't think it would be worth putting the button in the front because once you have the sound you like you don't need to change it that often.

Had mine fitted for about a week now, it was quite simple and I decided to run the cable along the off-side and then the button near the OBD port.

My thoughts on the sounds:-
1 - very quiet but not bad
2 - very quiet but not bad
3 - sounds like it's switched off
4 - the best for motorway driving, I'd say somewhere near to the original sound "dynamic"
5 - very nice v8 sound, quite loud and certainly turns a lot of heads.
6 - not enough of a rumble but my mate listened who used to have an R8 and he said it was very close to that

It would be good if you could pick other cars, like AMG and have them in the sound profiles buttons!!
