2006 a3 s line 2.0 tdi brake upgrade

Looking to upgrade the front and rear brakes with some discs calipers and pads
Any recommendations???

ebc turbo discs with greenstuff pads works well, or some brembo's, or ferodo, or any other grooved discs. avoid cheap no name and be prepared to pay a fair price.

Would I have to upgrade brake fluid or would standard fluid be ok

standard fluid is fine, make sure its dot 4. you could use dot5.1 if you really feel the need, but keep clear of dot 5 silicone. the dot is just the boiling point though, and unless you get the discs glowing cherry red then dot 4 will be more than good enough. change it every 2 years and you will never boil it. dot 5.1 is for rally cars or race cars and the silicone fluid , dot 5, is the stuff you never need to change as its not hydroscopic, but doesn't mix with normal mineral fluid. best avoided.

Thanks for that ... I can't see me getting the brakes warm enough to glow so will stick to standard fluid then
