Looking for a Octavia and came across what looks like a minted 2009 plate VRS with only 15000 miles. I was not looking to buy a six year old car but if this is as good as the pictures look it might be worth it. They are looking for £10k which I think steep.

I am a little concerned with the lack of mileage is there anything I should wary of?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Does nobody have an opinion or any advice on this. What is your gut feeling on this. Would any of use look at a 6 year old car with only 15000 miles.

is anyone going to clock a car down to a mere 15k ?
if you have the reg and the number off the current mot then you can see every mot its ever had including the advisories and mileage.

Here is the url for the car. What do you think from the pictures it looks immaculate.

looks lush. some people do buy nice cars and not use them much. just bear in mind it will need a timing belt due to the 6 year thing. apart from that i would be ripping his arm off for it.

Hmm i thought this engine had a chain and not a belt or is it only newer models that have chains as I have read about the chains jumping teeth.

oh it might be a chain, but if its a belt........???

Yea if it is a belt and there is no proof that it’s been changed then it is something that I would get changed. Although it looks like a stunning car it is still 6 years old and to be honest I was planning on buying something with a least 6 months manufacture warranty at least.

But in saying that some cars that I have looked at are not a patch on this and they were only 2 years old.
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. :D:1zhelp:

stop thinking about it and buy it before someone else does. 6 years old is nothing for a skoda. and whats the point in buying a car with 6 months warranty left, you know it will crumble after 8 months.

Meant to update - Decided not to go ahead although the car looked minted it was still a 6 year old car and I just did not like the fact that it had only done 15k in those years.

Forgot all about this thread.

Traded my Passat in against a 63 plate Octavia VRS (petrol). Had it since January so far I am loving it.
