Just `inherited` my oldest daughters 02 Golf 1.9 tdi 130 (I bought her it in the first place) because shes moved on to an old 7 seat Zafira, my main transport is a Hilux.
Not my first Golf, I did have a new mk5 2,0 gttdi 4motion in 2005 that I had remapped (really quick)
This one runs and sounds great but is supposed to drop into limp now and again (no lights) under load.

You need to have a scan with vcds as a start.

Had scan, no codes diagnosis turbo, turbo removed, clean and free, runs great most of the time but with late 2k+ boost and occasional limp (no lights)

Put the post in the golf section where you will get plenty of feed back.
Give engine code,and there should be codes with the scan,or what diagnosed turbo as cause.
What was involved in turbo clean.
There are many experts who will be willing to assist.
