Does anyone know how to remove the centre console switch blocks. I am trying to access the ciggy lighter wiring and have removed the 2 screws in the ashtray, pulled up the gaiter trim around the DSG stick but can't see how the two north / south blocks of switches come out. Ashtray housing won't come out as it is held in by the switch blocks. Thought that the east / west trim to the rear of the gear stick may have pulled off but everything seems rock solid. Can't access the ciggy lighter wiring from side trim on the tunnel as it's too short to pull down. Would appreciate any advice.

Yeah, that's the trim you need to remove. You need to pry it off, preferably with a plastic trim removal tool to prevent marking the trims.
Under the trim there are two screws, one for each switch block.

Jim.

Thanks Jim. Knowing it does come off gives me the confidence to go for it.
Many thanks.

Does anyone know how to remove the panel for the rear pax air vents/12v socket behind the armrest?

There's a little rectangle trim below the power socket. You pry that off and you should find two torx 20 screws under it. Remove those screws then the trim lifts out and upwards. Remember it'll still be attached by the power socket wiring though, so don't pull too hard until you undo the connector.
