Hi all
I recently put my 1988 audi 80 quattro 1.8 back on the road after having it lying up in the shed for a few years .Car was running well for the first few weeks but now there is a engine miss in it coming and going . While investigating this yesterday I noticed that the spark is jumping on the coil (can be seen jumping out from the lead in the centre of the coil ) So I am assuming that this might be the problem so was
wondering is it just a case of getting a second hand coil ...and will any Bosch coil do or is there one specific for my car ...??
Thanks in advance
mac

Any regular cylinder type coil will work. Bosch ones are better quality wise. While you are busy inspect the HT lead for corrosion and replace if any is present.

As an afterthought there are two types of HT lead connectors, make sure when you make your purchases that the coil and the HT leads have a matching type.
