Vw jetta tdi airbag symbol

The driver airbag symbol came on in my vw jetta 1.9 tdi the other day I took it into a local garage who said the drivers side airbag needs replacing ?? They have quoted me £395.00 which seems over the top I'm I being unrealistic or is this the going rate ?
