G397 sensor issue

Hey Guys.

So annoying problem number 2 on the q7;

The warning alarm sounding and the dash message of "automatic headlights/automatic wipers defective" happen too regularly, especially in the dark. its head melting hearing the alarm every few minutes :zx11:. The previous owner claims he had it in with audi and they couldn't solve the issue bar resetting the fault.


I'm assuming its something to do with the g397 rain & light detector sensor ?

Has any body had this issue before,
Can the sensor be easily replaced,
If so is it in the rear view mirror housing ?

If I get the front shocks issue sorted and this sorted ill be a very happy q7 owner so i'm crossing my fingers.
