I have just got a 2003 T4 2.5TDi (88bhp) which has done 66k.

The oil light was on when I got it. The oil was over filled. Changed the oil and filter - light still on. Changed the oil pressure switch - still on. Changed oil level sensor - still on.

Checked the oil pressure which is 70psi at idle and 80psi at 2000 revs. This seems high as auto data says it should be 2 bar which i think is about 36psi.

We have oil pressure so I dont think its the oil pump.

Ive changed the oil and filter twice now. The van is ex Glasgow City council and was a lease vehicle so it would have been regularly serviced.

Please can anyone help me? :zx11:

bridge the wire to earth and it will stop. The dash gives out 12volts and the oil pressur switch is the earth, when the oilpressure drops the switch becomes opencircuit and the light comes on so your fault is either oilpressure failure or poor contact/dash insert. If the oilpressur eis tested and found ok connect voltmeter to the circuit and test for open circuit and high resistance and short to posotive. The wiring is prone to failure and would be the first port of call
