Xenon headlight Front Level Sensor Location?

I wonder if anyone here can point me to the location of the front level sensor on a 2008 8k saloon?
I have a dash warning that it is defective and vcds tells me I have fault code 00496 which relates to the front level sensor.
I should like to check the connections. On Briskoda a thread describes the location of the sensor as on
the front nearside inner wing, but that comment came from a Passat owner and it may be different on an Audi.

Im not sure, should this be both sides or both side if only with electronic suspension.

I crawled under and took a look. I unplugged the connector and re-connected and that did not fix the dash warning light, so
I ordered a new sensor from Cardiff Audi who did it for £84 including vat and delivery.
Now I have fitted it and although it is a bit awkward to reach, there is no real difficulty.
