Hi, does anyone know if cruise control can be fitted retrospectively to a B7 Bluemotion 1.6 diesel S spec. Might inherit one from work but considering the miles I do, not so sure its great if I can't fit........

You can retrofit it but I think the car needs to have multi function steering wheel for it to work. Here are a few other things you should know :

The cruise control switch comes as the complete stalk switch assembly (indicators, wipers and cruise stalks) so if one car is an estate and the other is a saloon it'll be the wrong switch (estate has rear wash/wipe & saloon doesn't).
You'll need a new lower steering cowling with a cutout for the cruise switch.
On a Passat, you need to route a wire between the steering electronics ECM and the engine ECM. The engine ECM is under the scuttle trim beside the wiper motor and is secured with shear bolts that will need to be drilled out.
You'll need the correct wiring pins for the connectors on the steering & engine ECMs. The dealer can supply them if you give them the part number of the connector housing.
Once it's fitted you'll need the steering ECM recoded and cruise control activated in the engine ECM using VCDS or some other VAG specialist diag tool.

Hope that helps.

Jim.
