Hi guys
This is my first post so be kind lol

My 2.0 tdi dsg has got a judder on pull away my gearbox man has said its more than likely the clutches need replacing has anyone got any ideas of price to fit a new one he is giving me a price on Monday but I would like a bit of a heads up first from you guys

Year, mileage and your annual mileage might be useful.

Also has it had it's fluid changes on the 40k (I think) recommended for DSG's?

'Your gearbox man' sounds like you've used him previously, I'd certainly be getting other quotes (which shouldn't be a problem since you live in London. Not saying he's not right but had an elderly couple come in (where I used to volunteer) and ask if they could get financial help in replacing their PAS. Seems the garage that they'd used for 30yrs had quoted them £1700...on an N reg fiesta!! You could by a whole new car of that age with that money and have change.

Unbeknownst to them the garage had probably changed hands 5 times and knew they had a captive audience. :(

Do a forum search as the same box is used in the golf, Q3, passat etc. Seem to remember a thread where the clutch was about 1k, mechatronic 2k and complete box 5k!!

by the way it's a 2008 2.0 tdi with 96k on the clock

I've been quoted about £1500 by a dealer.
