Guys,
Anybody replaced the standard H11s with LED's?
Which did you use?

I got some with 15 x 5050 SMDs in each assembly, supposedly equivalent to a 35w halogen, but although they are a great looking 5000K white light, they don't seem to put out as much overall light (lumens?) as the horribly orange standard Osram halogens.

LEDs aren't as bright as halogen bulbs and they won't cut through fog without a projector.

I bought some standard halogen bulbs with a light blue coating on. The light is white (not chav blue) and they do cut through fog. Only a few quid off ebay.

May have to try out that route, the LED bulbs threw the 'bulb out' thing when I turned them on today even though they were working.
Also, my fogs were coming on as the car locked/unlocked before, this now seems to have stopped... Likely because it thinks the bulb is out?

Yeah it's probably the reason. You will need resistors or canbus compatible LEDs so the system thinks normal bulbs are connected.

Something along these lines is what I've put in the wife's fog lights.

I'm thinking of projector fogs for my b6. They seem dear but led bulbs I've had haven't lasted and £30 ones even. Get projectors, and poss put hids in.

HIDs in fog lights? Are you mental? They will blind EVERYONE! Fog lights are only needed for about an hour a year anyway.

My fogs are set as drls. Might be easier just to have this unset actually. And the teardrop wipe unset. And the alarm chirp. Someone obviously bought a vagcom lead and went crazy with it. Lol

That's (obviously) the halogen...
Supposed to be 6000k equivalent, yea right.

Vs the LED.

The LED LOOKS loads better, but the light output is shockingly poor in comparison
